Passing the Torch

A New Chapter for the Ocean Reef Chamber of Commerce

By Christina Sarmiento, Outgoing Executive Director

After five fulfilling seasons with the Ocean Reef Chamber of Commerce, I’m stepping away from my role as Executive Director with deep gratitude for the experiences, relationships, and growth we’ve shared as a community.

When I began this role, we were navigating a unique moment in time, recovering from the shutdowns, rebuilding trust and momentum, and reimagining what it meant to support our members in a rapidly evolving landscape. I’m proud of the strides we’ve made together: expanding membership, modernizing our operations, strengthening our board, and increasing member engagement across the board. It’s been a privilege to champion the businesses that make Ocean Reef so special.

Now, the Chamber is entering a new chapter, and I’m pleased to introduce the person stepping into the role: Angela Andreola.

Angela brings with her a wealth of experience in business, advertising, and community engagement. As a former advertising executive at The Ocean Reef Press and a small business owner, she understands the unique demands of entrepreneurship and the importance of creative, thoughtful marketing. She knows this community well and has been a familiar, supportive presence for years, volunteering her time, showing up for local events, and always looking for ways to contribute.

She’s someone who listens, connects, and cares deeply about the success of those around her. While every new role comes with a learning curve, Angela’s background and commitment make her well-positioned to lead the Chamber through its next season.

Outside of work, Angela enjoys boating, cooking, and spending time with her family and close friends, reminders that she shares the values that define life here at the Reef.

Please join me in giving Angela a warm welcome. I’m excited to see how the Chamber continues to evolve and serve our members under her leadership, and I’m grateful to have been part of its story.

With appreciation,
Christina
